James also received an original painting done by science-fiction artist Bob Hobbs (who just happens to be Gillian's significant other)

In April of 2002, a few Fan Fiction writers got together at a little place in Chicago.... We called it BardCon.
We signed autographs.

We had to get the whole gang of new and old friends together for one really good shot!
It was a great weekend! We invaded Hooters! (Trish's idea. She said they had great ice tea.)
We were seriously worried about getting thrown out of Ruby Tuesday's. (Saber was choking on cheese sticks after a snarky comment from Gillian, Maggie wondered if THAT was what we were calling 'IT' now. And the specter of 'Robot Vampires from Outer Space' (clinging to cars, drinking oil, glutting in the back of the service stations...) hung over our table amid the laughter.
We got to see old friends again, meet new friends and have a wonderful time as only a bunch of women who lust after JM and write their hearts out about Buffy and Spike, can do.
