Outside
So here I am. Standing by the
big tree in front of the Slayer’s
house
hoping to get at least a glimpse of her. I'm really pathetic. Becoming
just
like poof.
I sigh as I inhale an unneeded breath
of smoke from the umpteenth
cigarette
I have smoked tonight. I'm beginning a nice little collection of
cigarette
buds here in front of me.
I look up, and see the Slayer in her
room. She is changing into a
nightgown.
As she takes off her shirt I watch, and marvel at her beauty. I
told
her that maybe her beauty was fading. Maybe that's why white bread
left.
What a
lie that was! She's more beautiful than ever! Tomorrow is her 20th
birthday.
And no, her beauty is not fading. Not at all.
I wonder if I should get her
something for her birthday. Maybe I'll
finally
give her those chocolates I got before. Oh wait, those'r all smashed
up...
I look up at her window once more.
She looks out as if she senses
me. She
looks in my direction, and I duck behind the tree. Bloody hell! I
hope
she didn't see me...
I take a quick glance back, and she
is gone. I sigh in relief as I
hear
the front door open...
She steps out, and walks towards the
tree. I know she saw me. What
the
hell will I tell her? Same as always. Out for a walk. Tell her to sod
off.
She walks up to the large tree I am
hiding behind. She is still
wearing
her silky nightgown. She looks effulgent. I want to put my hands all
over
her. That'll never happen though.
Suddenly a hand grabs me, and pulls
me out of my hiding place behind
the
large tree.
"Spike!" She says to me. I
can tell she is irritated. I roll my
eyes,
and try not to look so completely love sick.
"What the hell are you doing
here?"
I try to think of something
convincing to say. "Same as before Slayer. Out for a bloody walk! You know
your house is still in parts of Sunnyhell that people might just happen to walk
by." I hope she believed that.
"Your not people Spike."
She says. If it wasn't true, that might have hurt. Might have.
"Well, I'll just be on my merry
way then." I turn to go, But she stops me.
"Wait Spike..." I turn to
her hoping she will jump on me, and shag me right here.
"Thank you. For watching over my
Mom, and Dawn. I owe you one." She
smiles
up at me, and I almost believe she means it.
I gently put my hand on her soft warm
cheek, hoping to god she won't
rip it
off. She doesn't.
"I'll
hold ya to that Slayer." I say as I smoothly walk away lighting another
cigarette.
And I will...hold her to that...

Part 2
My
Heart Beats Like a Drum
"My
heart beats like a drum.
Like a
drum. Dum dum dum.
Dum dum
dum."
I feel someone watching me. I
look out my window. My heart
skips a
beat. It's Spike.
"My
heart beats like a drum.
Like a
drum. Dum dum dum.
Dum dum
dum."
I'm actually happy he's here. I will never admit it. But
I
have a
little crush on him. Who wouldn't? He's HOT. I walk down the stairs
my
heart pounding. I know he hates me, so I will be cocky as usual.
"My
heart beats like a drum.
Like a
drum. Dum dum dum.
Dum dum
dum."
I open the door. I don't see
him. My heart sinks a little.
Then I
see some smoke coming from behind the big tree on the front lawn. I
smile.
"My
heart beats like a drum.
Like a
drum. Dum dum dum.
Dum dum
dum."
I pull him out of the
shadows, and before I know it, he's
telling
me he wasn't here to see me. I am disappointed. He begins to walk
away. I
don't want him to go. I have to stop him.
"Spike..." I say. He
turns around. "Thank you...for watching
over my
Mom and Dawn. I owe you one." His cold hand is on my cheek now. It
feels
like Angel's cold hand. But this is different. It's Spike. I look up at
him. My
heart is pounding.
"I'll hold ya to that
Slayer." He says coolly as he walks away.
"My
heart beats like a drum.
Like a
drum. Dum dum dum.
Dum dum
dum."
I walk into the house.
"I
Close my eyes.
Close
the door.
I won't
worry anymore.
I've
been waiting for you.
Everyday
and every night.
Cut the
light.
Let it
fade.
I don't
wanna be afraid.
I've
been waiting for you.
My
heart beats like a drum.
Like a
drum. Dum dum dum.
Dum dum
dum."
He'll hold me to that. I
smile to myself as I go upstairs to bed.
"My
heart beats like a drum.
Like a
drum. Dum dum dum.
Dum dum
dum."

Part 3
Feelings
I told her. I bloody told
her. She rejected me. I knew she
would.
She's cocky like that. I love it. I smile as I take a puff from my cigarette.
Here I am again. In front of her house. I told her tonight. She
told me
she wanted me gone. Out of this town. I don't buy that. Not for a
bleedin
second. There's something. I can feel it. I know she can too. Or when
she
caught me here before, she wouldn't have let me touch her beautiful face.
But she
did. I'll never forget that feeling. Ya sure she changed the locks.
That
doesn't mean a thing! She just wants to play. Only going to make me try
harder!
She doesn't want to admit that there is something between us. But there is. She
knows it.
I look over at the living
room window. the light just went
out.
She must be on her way to bed. Wish I could be in that bed with her. I look down
at the ground for a moment. What if I'm wrong? What if she really doesn't feel
the same? I shake my head. She has to! The feeling is just to strong! I will
make her see. I will.
I glance back up at the
window to see the curtain quickly shut. Huh? Someone was watching me. If it was
her, she knows I am here again.
The front door slowly opens.
I look up in hopes of seeing her.
Hoping
if I do see her she won't yell at me, and tell me to get lost.
It's Dawn. Shouldn't she be
in bed? Oh well. I wave at her.
She
walks over to me.
"What'd you do to my
sister?" She asks looking up at me.
"She's
all freaked out. Talking about it can't be true. What can't be true?"
I laugh a little. "None
of your soddin' business. Now run
along
into your beddie-by." I wave her away. She doesn't go.
"I don't need to go to
bed now. Your in love with her aren't
you?"
She gives me a knowing look. She's smarter than people make her out to
be. She
really is.
"You are! And she knows
it doesn't she? That's why she's
freakin'!"
She turns around laughing.
"Hey! What are you
laughin' at?" I bellow at her. It's not
funny.
My feelings are true. They are."
"Oh nothing. It's just
that she likes you too. She won't ever
admit
it. But she does. That's why she locked you out ya know. She doesn't
want to
face the truth." She shivers. "Well I better go." She turns
away.
"Hey! Wait! What do you mean? Did she say something?"
She
turns
back to me for a moment.
"No. But I know she does.
I can see it." With that she turns
and
walks into the house, and I can here the front door lock. I sigh as a
turn
away. Women. Why do they do this to me?
